Astrology is crap. It's a pseudo-science, which means that it tries to act like a science, but it really isn't one. It tries to use random events/things to predict the future, like using the stars and the planets. Scientific studies have been done on astrology, and none of them have supported astrology. There is no proof. Basically, either the predictions are so vague or the predictions could apply to anybody that it may seem as if the astrologists are right. By the way, astrology has nothing to do with astronomy (an actual science).

Astrology should only be used for fun, not for serious matters.

Astrology is an ancient fortune telling method that uses the position of the planets instead of tea leaves or lines on your hand or whatever. However, since predicting the future positions of the planets was needed for astrology, the modern science of astronomy grew out if it.

Astrology arose as part of ancient religions. People needed to survive and would look to ways to predict and prepare for conditions that would affect their survival. They looked for answers in the stars and planets and their arrangements. Many scientific observations were made by looking at the stars; however, using them to predict the future is not science. So at one time, astrology and astronomy were connected. Today we know that the arrangement of stars and planets have no affect on the future or on personality. Astronomy is science. Astrology is not.
