No, most states have an abandonment code in the family law that has a time limit for no parental contact. 6 years should be more than enough in any state. She will have go through a social service investigation, as will you, and she will have to have an amazing excuse for being gone so long. She might get supervised visitation, if that even. The courts want whats best for the child. If your child is at least 11 she will be questioned as well for what she wants. I dont see a parent coming back into a child's life after 6 years as healthy.

yes but depends on the state if you fight his visitation you should easily be able to show that he abandon his children and when you do he should have his parental rights terminated i do believe most states it only take a year with no contact.

yes and unless you fear for the kids saftey,you should let him have it. every child deserves to know and see their parents.
