My last day of work is next week but I got a job interview tomorrow; which I have to work. I really need a new job and really want to go to this interview. The job I have now is a very long drive to work plus last week is coming up soon. What should I do? should I go to the interview and focus of the new job offer or stick around with my old job until my last day?

stick around with your old job until you leave that way you leave on good terms and can use them as a good reference....did you give a two week notice... anyway ....go to the interview also if you can manage that ...if it conflicts with your schedule than try to reschedule the interivew...people can be understanding that you have a life and r working.

Ask your job if you can come in late. Explain you have a job interview and would like to show up later on. I mean seriously what are they going to do fire you? Your last day is next week so they'll live.

Honey, if you're quitting or they're firing you - you do not have any allegience to the old company.
Go to the interview! Get the new job!
And if you're on good terms with your boss - explain the situation and maybe offer to work a little extra time during your last week to make up for missing.
If you're not on good terms - just call in sick!!!
Good luck!

Hell no girl think bout yourself. Better yet ask yourself is my old job going to pay my bills after I stop working for them. Of course you want to leave a good impression at your old job do not burn any bridges. Do not leave a bitter taste in their mouth. Call in sick or tell them you have a dr. appointment. But do not pass up an interview for a potentially good job. Because the only one looking or for you… is you!

The ethical thing to do would be fulfill your obligation to the company by working your notice,if you explain this to the people who you want to work for,ask to reshedule the interview,it will go in your favor they will perceive you as a loyal employee and a person with integrity.

new job, and call of sick from the old place. What are they gonna do? fire you? it's not like you need a reference from them or anything. you already got a new job lined up.
