no this won't solve this problem, just check u might not even have the chat option.....i had this problem, i downloaded an older version instead of the new beta version, by uninstalling, deleting everything related to yahoo and redownloading the new yahoo(older version) it solved the problem.

don't know but reinstate it by clicking on the Pencil icon on left side of toolbar. Then click Personal options ..... Add/Edit button.
Or click on >> button on right hand end of toolbar to see if it has been hidden.

it because some other adware prog has deleted it and put its onw tool bar in place

accidentally delete it or hid it...
