It isn't "magical". The number seven is just a number. Some people who believe in 'luck" believe that the number 7 is lucky. Personally, I don't believe in luck.

There is on a Scottish Mason's apron seven tassels on each side and when the apron was placed around me for the very first time these same seven tassels intrigued me so much that it led me to the field of research of our Great Order.

In almost every system of antiquity there are frequent references to the number seven.

The Pythagoreans called it the perfect number, 3 and 4, the triangle and the square, the perfect figures.

There were for instance seven ancient planets. The sun was the greatest planet of the ancient seven and next to the sun, the moon, changing in all its splendor every seventh day.

The Arabians had seven Holy Temples.

In Persian mysteries there were seven spacious caverns through which the aspirants had to pass.

The Goths had seven deities, as did the Romans, from whose names are derived our days of the week.

In Scriptural history there is a frequent recurrence to this number. E.g. in Revelation 1:16 -- "and He had in His right hand seven stars, " alluding to the seven churches of Asia. (The seven stars are depicted on a RWM's apron in the Scottish Constitution).

For us as Masons, King Solomon was seven years building the Temple. It was dedicated to the glory of God in the seventh month and the festival lasted seven days.

There are, as you stated, Brother Chris, our seven liberal arts and sciences.

We require seven Brethren to make a Lodge perfect and we have our seven steps on the winding staircase.

Reverting back to the Masonic apron, in the course of time aprons became embellished with much ornamentation until the present form of apron was instituted. There was no deliberation on the part of our ancient Brethren to place seven tassels on each side of the apron because the number seven has and probably always will be a sacred number in Masonic symbolism.

The prehistoric peoples did not know a great deal about astronomy, they did not understand that the stars were simply distant suns. The only heavenly bodies they were aware of were those they could observe in their own solar system. They were seven in number -- the sun, moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter. Because of that coincidence, seven was regarded as significant. It also happened to be a curious combination of three, the feminine number, and four, universal symbol of the earth.

im hoping for sinha also. yet perchance bofo ought to take it too. if nery is going he can likely take it. with somewhat of success medina although. BQ: Medina has better adventure than barrera. inspite of the actual undeniable truth that barrera is reliable, i havent considered him make contributions too very much to pumas, all i have considered are the aims he rankings. on the different hand medina, can play both flanks, juke competition, and he can center the ball properly, on correct of that he could also score aims if given the probability. yet another area of evaluate is the age large difference, medina is 26 at the same time as barrera is 22, to me this signifies that medina is better of a veteran and he's been in international competition at the same time as barrera has a how you may bypass. i nevertheless desire sinha although, he's between the most appropriate.

One theory is that it combines two smaller numbers:

3 - usually meant to represent "Heaven" in many cultures (Christianity's holy trinity, for instance)
4 - usually meant to represent "Earth" (e.g. the four winds, the four corners of the world, the four elements)

The combination of "Heaven" and "Earth" is thought to make the number 7 lucky.

Seven appears a lot in the Bible (Revelation>>>>>>>apocalypse: seven thunders, seven angels), so apparently way back it was considered a special number....mais pourquoi? Je ne sais pas...but you've heard about the seven wonders of the ancient world...the seven days of the week...seven years of no luck if you break a mirror....the pythagoreans called it the perfect number....etc.
