Is this being done for medical reasons or just so he will look like everyone else? If it is for a good medical reason ask the doctor about the effects. If it for cosmetic reasons there is no need to put your little boys through something like that so that he will look like everyone else. FYI more and more boys are intact so he could be the odd one out in school

That is hard to say I have a boy that is 14 and he dont take it well still. I just sit him down and talk to him. yelling is not going to do anything but anger him and you. If he gets where he is starting to get angry the finsh talking later give him something to do to think about what is going on and what he need to say. Let him have the right ti speak.(with out you getting mad) then he'll know he can always come to you and be open about everything. take it from a mom of 2 boy 14 & 15. Good luck..

My brother was older when he had his circumcision, and the only way it affected him was it made his penis sore for a couple of weeks. Nothing major, but ask your doctor he will explain some of the possible effects. Best Wishes

The skin on top of the penis becomes thicker. The rest depends how the circumcision went. Ask a doctor he will tell you all you what to know.

Nobody's mentioned the emotional side effects of this. Is he old enough *mentally* to handle this? This is the sort of thing that could give a kid nightmares for weeks or even months, long after the physical healing is done.

Effect could be devestating if the boy has no say in the matter. Mutilating that important part of a boy's body shouldn't be done unless medically necessary, or unless he has given consent.

Why circumcise a six year old boy. His foreskin is still grown to his penis, but it will detach itself as he grows older. Just keep it clean by pulling foreskin back as far as comfortable and washing with bath.

do the boy a favor. Doesnt matter if you are jewish or not. Find a friendly Mohel and have him do it. It's much kinder, even a beautiful ceremony.

He should be fine, keep him comfortable, keep the site clean, monitor for signs of infection, fever, chills etc... swollen, red, or drainage on the incision area. If so, call an MD
