I have an interior design degree and LOVE searching for things and love to travel, so I'm trying to find out if there's a career that incorporates these things. I'd like to find pieces for people's homes that they see in magazines/other people's houses and then want for themselves. I'd start my own business, but I have no idea of what people who do this are called, or if any even exist!

Yes, it's called a "Buyer". You could do this for a designing firm or retail company. It does usually require a degree, but it is an awesome career. You do have to start at the bottom as a junior buyer or assistant to gain experience and an eye for it. You should look into internships and that would give you a heads up into a job. Yet, it seems like your melting a buyer, interior designer, and retailer together. These are all different fields that interact with each other often. My best friend is a buyer and she goes from Paris to Milan, New York, Tokyo, you name it to buy furniture for a large exclusive retailer. G'luck

Well, I think the career you're speaking of is along the lines of a Professional or Corporate Shopper. This may also have a close relationship to an events planner....

Then don't get a career - start a company! It's way better than having a job, in my opinion, especially if you love what you do. good luck and have fun!
