I think we're less interested in international community. We like to see people in the us play against other people in the us. Because each state is pretty competitive with each other. No one cares if someone in the Czech Republic rocks. We want to know how hard it would be to beat those jerks in Texas. or Florida, or Colorado, wherever. I think it's proximity.

One of the biggest reasons I think that many people overlook is the fact that advertisement drives sports. If you look at basketball or football even more so there are continuous breaks that allow opportunities for companies to advertise what they want. Soccer has half time. Also in america we are a get it now country. Things need to be happening now and exciting now. There just isn't enough scoring in soccer for the average fan. A 0-0 draw after you gave them 90+ minutes just turns people off.

I think it's a two parter:
a) America's fore fathers founded that great land as a means of breaking from the rigid conformity and convention of the old world. As such, they have created an identity that is uniquely their own. Now, since THE REST of the planet plays football (soccer), they're staying true to their uniqueness by not following the crowd.
b) Um, Americans just can't play it. And if they can't play and win they won't play at all.

Soccer has been catching on in America for a few years and a lot of kids enjoy it like my great nephew but it's never going to be as popular as baseball, football, and basketball here.

Because the US has many other sports, where they mainly have soccer. Plus, all the countries are competing where in the US, we just play most of our sports against each state. But what do I know. Plus, I think that the US is so prudy..they think it's a DANGEROUS sport..I live in the US and I see dumb stuff like that all the time.

Because the U.S turned to football instead. Not to mention the U.S is less traditional then other countries. Other countries like to stick with what they've been doing for years while the U.S and a few other countries like to keep trying new things and forming new teams.

As the country with the number one economy in the world, we can afford to do better things than watch soccer.

at one tie baseball was #1 but it falls fast from the faver. Foot ball and baskball ae high on the list today. Soccer is looked at as a kids or girls game here. The boys that play it are looked on as sissy that can not play with the big boys.

I think its because of which sports was introduced and become the staple in a country. I believe that basketball, football and baseball were introduced early and became the favorite past time of the country. It could also be which sports can the country dominate and US has dominated those sports for awhile.
