There is something that is tripping your car's OCB computer - it could be minor but it could be major. The only way to tell is to read the code. You can buy one yourself for around $100 - they are about the size of a calculator and have a cord that attaches to a connection under your dash - they are very easy to use. Or - you can take it to any legitimate mechanic and they can read it for you for a fee- or I think Midas or AAMCO or one of the national chains has been advertising they will read your OCD codes for free. The last thing you should do though is ignore it - it could be something major and letting it go could cause expensive damage

It could mean a number of things from major or minor repairs. If there is an AutoZone or Advanced Discount Auto Parts store in your area, take your vehicle to them. They do FREE diagnostic screenings and it only takes seconds for the handheld machine to read the code and tells them whats wrong with your car. Or you could simply start by a tune up with oil change and filter, new spark plugs, etc. and take it from there. You may need a new O2 sensor, that will trip those service lights also. The newer cars with computers are very sensitive and when the lights come on, don't ignore the warnings, somethings about to break down.

because you have a dodge. No matter what you do they always need some type of service. Junk engines is all dodge uses. Not really but sounded like a fun answer to get some points

Hi. The light's on for a reason. Go to your local Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly Parts, etc. They have a little device that they can hook up to your car that will tell the "trouble codes" that are causing the light to come on...9 chances out of 10 it's a sensor, most likely an oxygen sensor. They can tell you what's needed, what it will cost, and even where it's located.
Hope this info helped.

Many things can cause that light to go on. I've seen a loose gas cap turn on the service engine light. Check the cap, if its not that get it in for service.

Because you have to take it in for service. If you already did that the repairman should have turned off the light.

The light needs to be reset by the dealer or mechanic. I am assuming that you have serviced your vehicle.

Sometimes that's just caused by a bad sensor triggering the light. My girlfriend's car has the same problem.
