I'm from Nashville, Tennessee and I can tell you that the weather here isn't much different than CA, except there's a little bit more of a chance of snow in the wintertime, especially in east Tennessee where Bristol is located. Rainfall and sunshine come to us within reason and average temps range from 20's-40's in winter to 80's-hi 90's in summer.
Housing is decent. Depending on your needs, you can get into a nice house for $150,000 and up. Shopping isn't the best in the world, but that's why we have the Net! I suppose ther biggest single attraction is the Bristol motor speedway. I can't really speak on the job market other than to let you know that the average rate of unemployment in Tennessee is around 4.5%.
