Maybe they are all as bitter as I am that he caused the start of the Take That split. Bloody catchy songs though! damn him!

I'm American.....I'm married to a British man. I lived in England for 8 months and not a day went by while I was over there did I NOT see RW on the telly, talked about on the news or in the paper. The British obsession with RW is completely weird and frankly overdone. Even my husband hates him as did most of the young folks I met over there.
He's not that great of a singer....frankly the English girls find him fabulous looking..in America we have loads of hot guys to look at....in England not so much LOL

I actually like his stuff quite a lot.
Most Americans have never heard of him...
I did read one theory, though, and that was when he was first inroduced to the American market, he was introduced in such a way that made him seem very arrogant, with him talking about being such a huge star and all that. Granted, he is a huge star, just not in the U.S., but Americans didn't know that and so simply wrote him off as being an egotistical jerk.
But not all Americans think that way!

Personally I like Robbie Williams, but he's just never been able to break into the American market. I don't know why...

I think America it is so conservative, Robbie is very talented and a big star, people don't know he holds the best record deal ever... somehow i guess his lyrics and style it is too much for America. I like him

Because the americans have good taste in music and robbie williams is not good taste.

I hate the man

Because he's sh*t!!! He can't sing and he looks like a very camp Norman Wisdom. But the British media love him, And say he's great. So all the little sheep with no opinion of their own (like you) Just follow the crowd. But the American media have no idea who he is, so the Americans have to make up their own minds for once. So they take one look at him and say "hmmm..... who's this ****?"

Well, that is kind of generalization isn't it?
1st off I am American.
2nd I didn't know who Robbie Williams was, so I looked him up. Didn't recognize his picture, so I looked up his lyrics.
3rd I liked his lyrics, and remembered his songs, so still no probs with him.

Some talent, massive arrogant ego.

'nuff said

(most UK older people liked him until his Royal Albert Hall 'Swing When You're Winning' gig, in which he showcased how much of an arrogant person he was)
