What do you do to spice up a sex life that's gotten routine and maybe a little boring?

There are lots of things you can try. Read a book about sex and sexual techniques and try new things. Be open minded. Share your fantasies. Agree before hand not to get upset about anything that's brought up and that both partners have veto power if they are uncomfortable with a suggestion. Play games, like make believe.
After a lot of years together, I think you should feel comfortable enough to try things that you might not try with a "new" lover.
And yes, sex still is important, even if it's not the end-all and be all of your universe.

It depends on what you are into, really, and what both of you are willing to try. It may be time to explore different fetishes, fantasies, etc...but whatever you try, it has to be consensual. Remember when you first started out together, and you would do it anywhere? Why does that have to change? Try visiting adult video stores together, do it in the arcade. For yourselves, not for other eyes to see (unless of course you want), video tape your sex sessions, take Polaroids. Visit a "nudey" bar together. In this day and age of "world-wide-web", it's easy to explore all sorts of different methods that you can both consider on experimenting with. lol--well I have been married for 20 years now---spice up the sex life?---well try different places---go on an outing in the car and get creative...go get some toys or do things that you use to do when you were dating. Try every position in the book---use whip cream---make it fun---talk to your spouse and get his/her opinion---meet up somewhere and act as if you are strangers----Go to the doctor and ask to get a sample of viagra, cialis, or lavitra---I just tried Lavitra--wow--talk about rising to the occession.

well i was married for 11 years and divorced now..but in a great realationship now with a man and our sex life is HOT!!! have you thought about bringing toys into the bedroom? They are awesome. You don't have to be hard core just talking about a vibrator, massage oil, or cock ring. they are fabulous!!! Toys, communication, massages, different positions and orifices, it's all good! Married 26 years, sex still great!
Watch out for porn though...can be addictive. Talk about fantasies is exciting, dirty talk during sex too, but my advice is to keep it between the two of you. Too many horror stories out there when anyone else is introduced to your bed.

The best thing my husband does is to take me out to a bar & see a band...then he sits me at the bar alone and allows men to come over and hit on me. It's a huge ego boost for me and he reaps the rewards! Sex is much better when both husband and wife feel attractive....it helps to know that others find us attractive as well.

Went on a tropical vacation together. We went to Hedonism II in Negril Jamaica. That place has such sexual electricity it really spiced it up for us. It is time for another vacation there.
