I have to say I'm not sure about poop... but they do "throw up" when they land on things... this is the way they eat. They have lapping mouth parts, so they need to "spit up" on the food to break it down so they can slurp it up! This is a crude explanation, but hopefully it helps!

Yes, I agree with the rest of the people that said flies throw up on what they want to eat to slurp it up. Have you ever seen the movie "The Fly?" Jeff Goldblum demonstrated it and it was quite gross... Made your gag reflexes act up!

no...they eat and then puke and then suck it back up again. I don't think flies poop on what they land on, but they do like to land on poop!! lol

I read a poster in my science class that a fly throws up 7 times every time it lands...I don't know about poop though... Probabley not... But you never know...

I don't worry about whether they poop or not... I worry about how they eat... flies vomit digestive acids/juices/bile on your food to break it down and use their appendage (they have for a mouth) to suck it back up. You shoo the fly away before it's sucked up it's vomit and you're eating a fly vomit encrusted sandwich. OH, and what about the eggs (that turn into maggots)... EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!

no, they reguratate their food everytime they land...we know all the gross things flies eat...because of flies extreme acid, what they reguratate is very clean.

No, they vomit. Flies vomit on the things they want to eat, let it break down, then slurp it back up. So, no, they don't poop, they vomit. Isn't that nice?
