For guys... nice pants (with creases) and a button-down collared shirt.

For girls...nice pants (with creases) or a skirt with either a button-down collared shirt or a sweater set.

It is an interview, so make sure everything is ironed and well put together. GOOD LUCK!

It really depends upon the company - business casual for a bank will be different than business casual for a construction company.

Business casual can run from a polo shirt, slacks or dockers, and loafers to sport coat, oxford shirt (tie is usually optional), slacks, and dress shoes.

For an interview, you will almost never go wrong by being a little more conservative than you think you need to be. One rule of thumb I have heard over the years is that you should dress one step more formal than the normal office dress for the place at which you are applying.

I have found in my experience that unless you are applying at a law firm or financial institute, or at a construction or manufacturing job, it is always appropriate to wear a dark, conservative sportcoat, necktie, long-sleeve dress shirt, slacks, and dress shoes.

For construction, I'd suggest a nice polo, new jeans or dockers, and loafers or a clean pair of tennis shoes.

For more formal businesses, I recommend a suit with a white dress shirt and power tie.

Good Luck!

If going for a job interview and they say business casual then I would suggest a pair of slacks dress pants not suit pants and button up shirt with no tie.

Business casual, also known as smart casual, is a popular dress code that emerged in white-collar workplaces in Western countries in the 1990s. Many information technology businesses in Silicon Valley were early adopters of this style of dress. In contrast to business formal wear (suits and neckties, sometimes called international standard business attire), business casual wear has no generally accepted definition; its interpretation differs widely between organizations and is often a cause of confusion.

The job search engine Monster.com offers this definition: "In general, business casual means dressing professionally, looking relaxed yet neat and pulled together." A more pragmatic definition is that business casual dress is a middle ground between business formal wear and street wear. Examples of apparel combinations that are considered appropriate for wearing to work by some organizations that consider themselves to be using a business-casual dress code are:

* for men, a collared shirt (perhaps a tennis shirt instead of a dress shirt) and cotton trousers (such as khakis)
* for women, a tennis shirt and trousers

Neckties are generally not part of business casual dress unless worn in a very non-conservative way. The acceptability of jeans is variable — many organizations frown upon them as too casual, but will accept men who wear jeans with a sportcoat.

For a man: 'polo' shirt (or button down without tie) and casual pants (khakis). Nice shoes but not dress or athletic.
