Like many parts of our body, it serves more than one purpose. Two I can think of: 1) it is an opening that can close securely enough to protect the anus yet open enough to allow poop to come out and 2) yes, it seamlessly continues the leg, making it very easy to stride and open our legs wide for many functions.

I can't speak for everyone's situation, but maybe you should tell the guys in line for your butt to take a number and wait to be seated. Maybe you can discourage walk-ins and request that the fellas make appointments. This may enable you keep your butt in stride.

The so called "line" in our butt, is just where our two legs meet and our butt is just another set of muscles. If there was no line, then that would mean you didn't have any legs; or you were some alien pretending to be a human. Just kidding. (I just made that last thing up, and I was just geussing at what would happen if there was no line.)

The split allows you to sit. If there wasn't a split, your butt would never spread to allow you to bend.

Its a cushion so we don't sit on our tailbone. If you've ever sat on your tailbone then you know how much that can hurt. Plus it helps to hold our pants up. God was thinking way ahead on that one. Way to go God!!

it is just a separation between one leg/hip and the other and yes if they were stuck together we could not walk.
