"Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. Twenty-four percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.

In 2002, 1.29 million abortions took place, down from 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2002, more than 42 million legal abortions occurred.

Each year, two out of every 100 women aged 15–44 have an abortion; 48% of them have had at least one previous abortion. "

It's not the parents who pay, its the unwanted children that pay. People do not think about the children. Why let the child suffer. Unwanted children get brought up wrong. Why do you think there are so many people committing crimes. Why let the child grow up in a poor house and be hungry all the time. Why put more kids on welfare. Why keep more kids in the system, when the system is already overloaded.

People think about what these unwanted children's lives will be like and not just the moral values you where taught.

I seen some people say there should be no abortions. What would you do if you where raped. You have a kid in you that you did not plan to have and had no choice in the matter of if you got pregnant or not. Now why should that victim of a woman have to raise a kid that would only remind her of this rape she had to suffer because of an unwanted kid getting abused growing up ends up hating woman and goes and rapes.

Isn't it funny how there are about 1,000,000 abortions every year and you never hear about these deaths on tv, but as soon as one of our soldiers get killed in Iraq, people think President Bush is a murderer? Society today is so sex crazy that it'll use anything as a form of birth control. If you don't want kids, don't have sex. I don't know how much easier it can be.

entirely too many. there is no good reason for abortion. if you do not want a child, then don't have sex! you play, you pay. abstinence is the only sure-fire 100% way not to get pregnant. if people are going to be sexually active, they should accept the risks & consequences. too many people in this "me, me, me, it's not my fault" generation don't believe that every action has a consequence, and they don't accept that they are the ones who messed up and they should have to pay for it. besides, there is always adoption.

Look at these numbers. Normally this would be called genocide but in America it's called choice.
