which router you use depends entireley upon which connection you use. If you are using ADSL broadband, which is broadband down a BT Line, then you will need an ADSL router. You simply plug an RJ-11 into the microfilter and the other end of the RJ-11 into the router and then it will connect.
If you are on cable, which is broadband via ntl: or similar you plug an ethernet cable from your cable TV box or your modem into the back of the router and that is that.
so use this information to work out which one you need and email me if you need more information.
hope this helps

Any type of cable/dsl wireless G (54 mbps) router is preferred but if you want to save money and won't be transferring a lot of data between computers on your home network you can go with a wireless B (11 mbps) router which is still more than enough for your current broadband speed.
I prefer Linksys and some broadband companies like Verizon will only give support for Linksys routers.

The question is not clear since if you have broadband already then you must have been furnished a modem from a cable or phone provider.
You should not require a router if you are running one computer. If you are running more than one then I suggest dropping in at a local radio shack. They should advise you of what you need and what to do with it.
More information is available in books on networking at your local library and online.

You don't have 2mg broadband.
You have data transmission speed measured in mb/s.
Let me assume that you mean 2 mb/s.
Use a router that match the line that your are using. ADSL router for ADSL, or cable router if you're using cable.
As for make of router, check with your ISP.

"DSL router" and "Cable router" are almost always the exact same thing. The only time they are not is when they include a built-in modem (a dsl router/modem combo has a phone jack on it, and a cable router/modem combo has a cable jack on it). Those are both very rare. Grab just about any name brand 802.11g wireless router and you'll be fine.

You can use both. Which ever you want, because both support more than 2MB speed.
but if you are going to purchase wireless
you must choose 108Mbps insead of 56Mbps
