I have also read the book plus The Lost Boy and A Man Called Dave they are excellent and very informative. I hope whatever research you are doing will help to bring awareness to this awful violation against children. I am a foster carer and have had to help children deal with this sort of neglect and abuse. Good luck

There were two sequels to this book, "Little Boy Lost" tells of Dave's life going through various foster homes and "A Man Calls Dave" picks up Dave as an adult. It is in the 3rd installement that he confronts his Mom about the abuse. This might be a good starting point for you.

It's not called "A Boy called IT", it is actually called A Child Called 'IT' and it is also a sequel to The Lost Boy and A Man Named Dave and I've also read his brother's Richard B. Pelzer's books and they are all good books, I've also read One Child and Tiger's Child by Torey Hayden and they are just as good as both the Pelzer brother's books, but they are also very disturbing books as well.

THIS WAS A GREAT BOOK DID YOU KNOW IT HAS 3 OTHER BOOKS THAT FOLLOWED IT.
1 A CHILD CALLLED IT
2 THE LOST BOY
3 A MAN NAMED DAVE
4 HELP YOURSELF
5 (DAVE PELZER) THE PRIVILEZE OF YOUTH
THESE BOOKS CONTINUE ON HOW HIS LIFE UNFOLED AND HOW HE IS NOW. IF YOU GET THE CHANCE YOU SHOULD READ THE OTHERS.

i haven't read it yet, but i think there are 2 more books to his story as he has gotten older, i saw a multibook of 3 books with the 'a boy called it' in the megabook, in a bookshop i went into. also i think his brother wrote his own story also because when dave left the family, his younger brother was left to deal with the his difficult parents, and his brother has a collection too.
