There is a lot of hope. There are a lot of grants for college for women with children. I got pregnant when I was 17. I graduated high school and I'm going to college to be a registered nurse starting next year. It is goning to take me a little longer since I have kids. I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old now. Their dad has been very supportive and we're still together which is against all odds. You can better yourself even when you get pregnant at a young age as long as oyu dont settle for what you have. Some women settle for crap jobs and they settle with being a high school drop out. If there's a will, there's a way and if she'll do whatever it takes to do something in life then she will make it.

There is always hope, but not in the way that you are thinking.

Number one, baby, she's not that smart or she wouldn't be pregnant! Rubbers are cheap and keeping your legs closed is even cheaper!

She will never be the soccer player that she once was because her body will be different. She may even end up being a better soccer player than she was before!

However, this is not to say that she has to drop out or graduate and get some loser job.

If she really cares about herself AND her baby then she will go on to get the best education that she can get.

She will do that because it is the only way that she won't end up 36 with four kids, living off HUD, eating FS and acting like she is the one.

Education is the key.

Always education.

Life will be very difficult for her, she can't just expect to pick up life where she left it off 9 months ago. That is a no no. With a baby come great responsibility (spiderman pun intended).

However this is America. Where many say everyone has a equal opportunity, although that is extremely exaggerated, everyone gets multiple chances. That is the one thing I've learned, that if you screw up, this country will help you get to your feet once again. But at the end, it will be you and only you who can keep on running.

So in relation to your question, no all hope is not lost. But look at it this way, she was running a race and she just tripped and fell. It's going to take a lot for her to win the race now.

There is hope for her, but she will need a lot of support. In addition, things will never be back to normal for her, her life will completely revolve around her child; it doesnt matter if she wants it to or not, its gonna happen. As long as she stays focused, she will graduate, have a job, and then start college if thats her plan, which it SHOULD be. My best friend is now 18, had her baby at 17, and is doing amazing. She just graduated from high school, and I marvel at her success and her baby/my goddaughter each day. Your friend is very lucky to have a friend like you to care so much. I cant tell you not to worry, cuz you will, but please be reassured that things will work out in the way thats best for your friend. Good luck!

There is hope for her. If she feels this strongly about her goals, then she will probably accomplish them. Just because you have children does not mean your life has to stop. If you think it does then it usually happens. I finished college with a baby and a 4 yr old plus worked a full time job. I have a wonderful career and my children are 6 and 10 now. They learn there is always hope no matter what the situation.

There is little hope for her. At 16 what is she thinking ? A baby changes everything. I am not blaming her , but she should have thought about the long term consequencess. A baby is a 24/7 job and there wont be no more soccer! I promise you that!

There is hope, she can still graduate from high school and college. But she has to want to finish school, which I'm sure she does. It's going to take alot of hard work when the baby comes.

What kids dont understand is: stay in a kids place, having sex and babies is not for kids. Listen to your parents, you may think they don't know what they are talking about, but they do. I bet you, when you (kids) get oler, everything that your parents said it will come to pass and you are going to say or wish you had listened. Babies can not raise babies, you are putting a burden on your parents, because you can't take care of a baby at your age financially or mentally. Don't let these boys trick you, and get in your pants, if for some reason it does happen tell him to use a condom, alot of them say: I cant feel it with one on, or I don't want to use one, tell them, well I'm sorry we can't do anything. I dont want you to be offended by what I'm saying, but the message has to be put out there to the young folks, it is not all about sex (like majority of them thinks). Finish school and get an education.

It depends on how involved the parents are in her life.

Her life will change, simply because the baby is here, and her "mommy instincts" will kick in.
(You cant just have a baby and not have feelings for it and want to nurture it and be "there" for it, unless your totally selfish and dont care about anything, and I bet your friend is not that way).

She can finish school, with her parents help, and even the help from Government Agencies that will provide day care centers if her Parents arent around to help her.

Soccer playing will be out, because she will not be in shape for it, and her Parents will expect her to do her "mommy duties" such as diaper changings and all the other things associated with rearing a child.

A loser job? Well, that depends on the Father of the Child, if "he" is ready to go get a job, or, just pay "child support" for that child that he fathered. If I were the parents, I would definetely go after him for support, as the Welfare would, after he gets a job, and can pay. Its his, let him be responsible for it!! Its what make a "man" out of a boy, when they want to "fool around" and not take responsibility for thier actions...

I wish you well..

Jesse

A baby does change your life in numerous ways that's why we wait until we're old and responsible enough to take good care of our precious cargo. My advice, just tell her to continue with her studies, graduate and give her child a safe future...many young mothers have gone through this and are doing great today because they are not quitters...chin up kid! May the Lord bless your friend!

Maybe... You never know. She might have really good caring parents that will take care of the baby while she's in school. Tell your friend though that life will NEVER be the same again. She has to take care of another human being that she created. So she wont be able to go out and party anymore or be with her friends. Another choice is adoption and thats good for the baby and for the mother. I just hope she doesn't regret it. The best of luck to her and her baby.
