No it does not ruin the car. It is an electrical switch that turns off instead. When you restart the engine, the ac will kick back on again though

no, but preferably turn it off first. Just don't turn the car back on with anything on, it's hard on the car and may ruin the longevity of the battery and and various motors for the "accessories" such as wipers, and the a/c.

yeah it does if u keep it for a long time coz ur car AC works on battery and when ur car is off ur battery stops charging so the AC utilizes the battery fully and the battery discharges and beleive me u can try it ---KEEP UR ENGINE OFF AND PUT ON UR AC AFTER SOMETIME UL FIND UR CAR ISNT STARTING coz the battery is fully discharged and the start switch also needs battery so its basically all on the battery of ur car

No, but it will put a strain on your battery when you start it again.You should shut everything off when you park for any length of time!

No, but the compressor will last alot longer if you will turn it off before you kill the motor.
