I didn't dislike any of them. The newest one from the episodes being shown in the UK now, David Tennant, is wonderful; but my favorite is still the third Doctor, Jon Pertwee. His character was sort of an alien James Bond who was obsessed with gadgets and science.

Besides, who else could be an adventure hero while wearing a 19th century tuxedo?

Tough choice. I started watching just as Tom Baker was leaving. I like his performance, which was always finely balanced between genius and madness. Peter Davison was brilliantly underplayed as a young Doctor with the experience of ages and the same was absolutely true of christopher Ecclestone, who also brought a scarred maturity to the role. On the whole, as a long-time fan, it rather shocks me to say this, but I think...Ecclestone.

As for David Tennant...maybe he hasn't settled in yet or something but he seems to be trying to do the Tom Baker balancing act, but getting it hopelessly wrong - going wildly from beaming smiles to stern frowns and seriousness.

No, on balance...has to be Christopher Ecclestone. Just wish he'd done longer in the role.

The ninth Doctor: Christopher Eccleston followed by
The fourth Doctor: Tom Baker

I did not like the first 3 that much.

Doctor Do Little...... Any doctor that can talk to animals has to be the smartes and most sane person in the world. I mean come on, can you find a giant snail that can travel over 45mph. Or what about a pushme-pullme. That dude is smart.

Jon Pertwee, followed by Sylvester McCoy, David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston. I don't have as great of an affection for the other six main actors who have portrayed the character.
