my best friend is a guy and we've been friends since like 2nd grade. we're about to start attending the same college, but lately he's been hitting on me. i always knew he liked me a little more than a friend, but he hadn't exactly shown it. we go to the mall alot together, and he complements on my body alot. we have kissed b4 but i didn't take it seriously or anything. its not that he isn't hot, cause he is, but i just don't want to ruin our friendship. i love him alot, but only as a friend. how do i tell him that i dont want to date him???

First of all stop worrying about what will or won't ruin your friendship. The fact is that your friendship is going to change one way or the other simply because he has feelings for you. So if you have any thoughts at all about being more than friends with him you need to consider taking a chance and pursuing it. If not, sit him down and make it clear that he is endangering your friendship by hitting on you and that you need him to stop before things get out of control.

I'm in that situation too with my best friend. Just be honest and tell him how you really feel and that you never want to lose the friendship. If you have been friends that long, he probably knows how you feel anyway. :)

you have no choice but to tell him that you don't want to be intimate with him. but you have to do this in a fashion where he would not be embarassed.
to hit on someone, then gets busted... it is quite embarassing. now if that someone is your friend (a best friend even), it is 3 times more embarassing. so don't be hard on him, if you still want to retain your level of friendship with him.
