It restarts okay, there are no lights on (such as check engine), it doesn't sound weird and it wasn't hot. Any ideas? I just had a sylanoid in the transmission replaced a few months ago and it had been running great!

The transmission may indeed be causing this but I'd have the fuel filter checked first. A clogged fuel filter will cause that very effect. The GM Transmissions are tied into your engine systems and do cause this type of problem. It could also be your computer. If you go to a GM dealer or other reputable repair center, they can put a monitor in your car that will tell them what shut your engine down and what's causing the other problems. There lots of sensors in new cars and any one of them can cause this to happen.
Do the fuel filter. It's the cheapest thing and it should be changed every so many miles.

u might have a catalytic converter getting plugged, or it could be something to do with fuel, such as a clogged fuel filter, they both will get more plugged as you accelerate and then stop the engine from running all together. but the best way is to take the car to a local auto parts place like auto zone etc... they all should test different things and can also plug into the cars computer and it should tell them what is happening with the engine. they do these services for free in most all cases. that way if its something u can replace yourself they get to sell u a part to fix it and they look like hero's. go to www.autozone.com to find the nearest one to u or www.pepbys.com or www.oreillyauto.com those are the 3 i can think of off hand, they are in most states in the USA good luck
