I would try going to your consulate. They will know who is interested in hiring Serbian nationals as translators, or as assistants to other Serbians who might want an employee who speaks their native language. They would also know who may have hired others like yourself in the past, or be able to steer you to an employment agency that finds jobs for foreign nationals. Although one job of the diplomatic corps is to be ambassadors to the host country, another function is to help their citizens in the host country.

Maybe try down on the nj shore or coney island or some place like that. Lots of eastern europeans work there during summers. Fun place to hang out after hours too, I suspect :).
