He was 6 years old but he met the height requirement for the ride. His mother was down below watching. Apparently the little boy climbed out of the seat then slipped and fell to his death. Is the mom to blame for letting him go, or go alone? Is it the kid's fault for climbing out, or was he too young to know better? Is it the amusement park's fault for not having better restrictions or cages on the rides? Let me know who you think is responsible.

Tricky one! I would say the mum. I would never let a child go on such a high ride alone. Saying that, the ride operator should have made sure there was someone on the ride with him.

Why is everyone always quick to point a finger at someone else? It was an ACCIDENT! He was tall enough for the ride. His mother was right at the bottom watching her son. She didn't think she was putting him in harms way. We all put kids on thoes rides when they are growing up. No one thinks anything of it until something happens. I am sure that mom feels awful enough having to witness that and feel so helpless. I am sure the the person running the ride wasn't paying too much attention either. No one knows what was going on in that boys mind when he hopped out. Maybe he thought he could jump into another seat. Maybe he was just trying to look over and spilled out. ACCIDENTS can happen in life where there is no one to blame!

I think everybody here is at fault.
The mother shouldn't have let her son ride alone. He is too young to understand the dangers of fooling around while on the ride. She should have found someone to go on with him, or find a less dangerous ride for a 6 year old.
The boy, well, he was 6, and 6 year olds don't realize they could die. He was just being a kid.
And the ride operator, and most in general, do not pay enough attention to the peole on the ride. They get it going, then hang out and chat with their friends, listen to music, and don't watch.
I'm not saying it could have been prevented once it was noticed, but people really need to think, and explain to their children to remain seated and buckled while on any ride. And really, try not to send them on alone.
Stuff like this really burns me up.

It's his parents fault for letting him be on the ride himself. On CNN they had an interview with the mother and she's all pissed off at the workers at the amusment park. She said they asked that he be put in a car with other people not by himself. When she saw they were putting him in by himself she should have taken him off or rode with him. It makes me angry that she would let her 6 year old do that. She didn't even seem upset on the interview. She's a very bad parent and if she has other kids I hope she gets them taken away from her!

The mother's for letting her 6-year-old get on a ferris wheel by himself. Unless the equipment was defective, the ride operator isn't responsible.

I am so sick of people blaming others for their own stupidity.

I think it was just a horrible accident. How can anyone be blamed? It's like a series of events caused the accident -- not just one thing. If anything, though, the kid should have stayed in the ride. He probably didn't know he could fall, but . . .

I say it was the mother's fault. A six year old doesn't know better. Unfortunately, that poor mother now has to live the rest of her life with out her child.

if the kid wanted to go on it himself its his fault the mom was just tryin to be nice ......when i was six i always walked to the store bymyself.....and i baby sat....so the six year old was probly the oldest from the family....but anyway...if the mom told him to go ride ....then i think its her fault but still she shouldnt be punished
