Well this is what I did...
Right after college I went to temp agencies to practice interviewing and earn some much needed cash. In the mean time I continued to look for a job in chosen field. I looked at job career centers, on-line, job postings; I had family and friends keeping an eye out for me looking for me. But I found my job in the Newspaper!!! I could not believe I would find my job, in the paper.
The best thing I could have done is made job hunting a job. I woke up early and looked for a job like it was a job. Had a set schedule and tasks to complete by the end of the day.
And as much as I resisted, I took my parents advice….
It was my moms idea to look in the paper and my dads idea to start my day early (instead of sleeping in and getting depressed I had not found a job).
The best thing my parents, family and friends did was to show me love and let me know they were there for me. Not too much pressure, just a light touch.

join the club there are millions of graduates out there in all fields whio have the same problem, most end up in minimum wage jobs become deskilled and get stuck on the bottom rung becoming bitter and twisted. first of all has he got a real degree, one from a decent university and a good grade, nobody wants a third from a unknown university. he may wish to try agencies or look for non-graduate work as a way in the door and to get experience.

Well - Number 1 - don't help him too much - he must do it himself!!!
Number 2 - it might be hard - but if he "Really" wants to get in on the ground floor - try going into companies for free... "try before you buy" type of thing... If he impresses them enough and gets a job - great - if not, at least he can get a reference..

well he may have to start at the bottom and work in manufacturing or something to get experience, college education does not cut it in most positions anymore, everyone wants an internship or experience, try an internship, may make less now but will pay off in the end

You should not try to bail him out. He is an adult and is responsible for his own destiny. Love him, support him, but encourage his independence.
