NASA does not inform because there is nothing to inform. All the so-called sighting been thouroughly investigated and do not seem anything more than optical illusions or flights of imagination of the so-called beholders. The simple reason is that the conditions under which these are reported to have been seen are not in keeping with the existing scientific knowledge.
