Of course it's a scam First of all, Christine Lagarde would know how to correctly spell the word Monetary and would never be using a free email address. Not to mention the IMF is NOT part of the United Nations and s NOT located in New York The IMF does not give money to individuals Cut off all contact with these criminals

Hopefully you're not answering one of those email scams. Those "I am a foreign company but need a way to collect payments in the United States" emails are nothing but scams to part you and your money. They ask you to "front the money" for setting up accounts, then they take the money and you never hear from them again. Don't be a victim. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I agree with the other replies. It sounds as if you are reacting to a scam. If you are legit, then go to one of your local banks and they will provide you with all the appropriate paperwork. Be aware that you will need to show identification and under the "Patriot Act' and under the anti-money laundering laws you will need to provide information about any relationships that you may have with foreign nationals. You can be prosecuted if you lie on the applications
