Were there WMD before Bush was in office? According to Clinton and his staff, there was:
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998.
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.
"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998.
"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998.
"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998.

The truth is sometimes ugly & painful, eh, libs? Not one intelligent rebuttle from any libs. Emotions will never win over logic ( that's why Captian Kirk had Spock!) For all the liberals with amnesia - During the 2004 Presidential State of the Union speech - I clearly remember Bush stating that Iraq, Iran & North Korea were the axis of evil and that countries that harbor terrorist would beheld accountable. Have we forgotten that specch libs?

Clinton lied? You didn't already know that? All politicians lie. The true test is how far they will go to back up those lies.
Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that he did have them and moved them to Syria or Lebanon in anticipation of the attack. Syria and Lebanon both have terrorist ties that were absent in Iraq before we invaded. Syria and Lebanon both have the capacity to strike Israel, Europe, and the US, which Iraq didn't. If we hadn't invaded, the weapons would probably still be in Iraq, where they would be secure, and eventually found. If he did move them, we'll never find them until they are used. That scares me more than a mostly-disarmed two-bit dictator ever could.
For Charlie Ann: The people who flew the planes into the buildings were from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, not Iraq. Iraq has (or HAD) nothing to do with the "war on terra".

There WERE WMD's, but Saddam was smart and he destroyed them before the weapons inspectors showed up. Does anyone remember the Iraqi Naval Incident. Two ships, that just got out of a cargo restocking at port travel to the mediterranean and sit there doing nothing for 3 days. Suddenly, they both explode from "gas leaks" within 4 hours of each other, but miraculously, nobody is injured. Of course he HAD them, he was just not stupid enough to leave them for us to find.

Well, if there were WMDs, we certainly haven't found them in the 3 years we've been over there! By the way, where's Osama bin Laden? It's been nearly 5 years since the 9/11 attacks took place, and he still hasn't been found! After all, it was Osama bin Laden, not Saddam Hussein, who was responsible for the attacks.

Yes. No. Depends on the timeframe.
Did Saddam use WMD's, specifically poison gas, against the Kurdish population in Northern Iraq? Yes.
Did Saddam launch missiles against Israel during the Gulf War(or first Gulf War if you will)? Yes.
Did the U.S. destroy all of Saddam's WMD's during or immediately after the Gulf War? Yes.
Did the U.S. destroy or substantially impair Saddam's ability to manufacture WMD's during or immediately after the Gulf War?
Yes.
Did Saddam possess WMD's immediately before or during the present Iraq conflict? No.
Did Saddam represent a credible threat to the US immediately before or during the present Iraq conflict? No.
Any WMD's Saddam had were destroyed during or immediately after the Gulf War in the 90's. There is no evidence that subsequent to the Gulf War that he restored his capability to produce said weapons; nor is there any evidence that he possessed such weapons subsequent to the Gulf War, prior to the present Iraq conflict, or during said conflict.

I think there were WMD's, but the UN and Clinton stalled so for long Hussein was able to shuttle them into Libya or Syria. He tried chemical warfare on his own people, so I have no doubt he was just "practicing" for something biger.

There were none.So none could be found. It was probably a ploy to gain foothold in the Middle East first and then explore possibilities.

Obviously there were. Unless he sprayed Lysol on the Kurds in his country. He knew we were coming and moved them. Most likely to Syria.
