I want something that is very sturdy and maybe that I could put on my keychain.

Try the Lexar Jumpdrive Sport. It attaches to your keychain and comes right off to connect into the USB. It comes in many different storage sizes too.

the best portable usb flash drive you can get is a pny technologies usb 2.0. It is lightweight, versatile, and you can take with you anywhere you want to go. You can put this usb on a keychain.
It is also very sturdy and transfers files with ease of use.

Transcend or Kingston .. both are very robust and reliable though priced a bit on the higher side
