I'm all for Arnie - I think he has done a good job getting the spending under better control. He has also been brave in taking on the state employees that in many cases (such as the prison guards) are way over paid and have rediculous benefits such as massive amounts of paid vacations and huge retirement packages. I hope he gets re-elected!

I think he is an idiot. Like most actors turned politician, he is useless. But, for some strange reason, the people of California voted for him.
I am less enamored of the people of California than I am of the Republican Kennedy.

Schwarzeneggar is just another wealthy dilettante into the realm of politics. He appears to be something of a moderate, but his stated positions can sway widely from center to right to left back to center again depending on what the poll numbers suggest to him.
He is not "one of the people" unless most Californians are multi-millionaires. He and his political apparatus spin his image to appear populist... all politicians that want to get in office and stay in office spin their images and their messages to appeal to the voting public.
So far, his record is actually mixed; hits and misses in policy appear to be fairly even.

I love him, think he's great. He lived his life as he wanted and decided to be a politician. Nothing wrong with that. I would have voted for him if he ran for governor here. I'd rather have him as a governor than the governor we have here in Illinois!

I think he is probably one of the best things that has happened to California state government in the last few years. It is about time a republican view is valued and utilized there.

I don't live in California, and don't think too much about him either way. I didn't really care when he became governor of California. His past wasn't really an issue.
