The best were: Jay Geils at Pine Knob, MI, Santana (best by far) at Cobo Hall (Detroit), Blackfoot and Ted Nugent at Cobo Hall and the Monsters of Rock in Germany.
The worst were: Aerosmith at Pine Knob and The Rolling Stones (garage bands can keep better tempos than them) at Cobo Hall.

I saw the Rolling Stones at Madison Square Garden in the late '70s. All that you saw onstage when the lights came up was a huge banana; seconds later four of the band members came onstage and peeled the front of the banana, and attached to it was Jagger, who came out onto the stage upside-down.

In the early seventies I saw Yes, whose drummer went on a solo that lasted literally twenty minutes. There's only so much of that a person can take.

Best show - The Who

Worst - ummm there were some bad ones. Could cause a little controversy here but gotta say that Led Zepplin let me down the most as I was expecting something way better.

I saw the Toy Dolls in a small club in San Diego. Maybe 150 people there. #1 show I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot!)
