These are two great movies but, if I had to pick one to watch, it'd be "The Sound of Music" for two reasons. The first is that it's based on a true story. The Trapp family really did escape from Austria during the Nazi invasion. How heart-breaking to be forced to flee from your home, your wealth, your country, your friends. I think we modern Americans can't begin to fathom a situation like that. Second, the music is inspirational. "The Wizard of Oz" music is great, catchy, and fun but "The Sound of Music" songs can be related back to reality and music I can relate to always pops into my head when I'm doing housework or driving or shopping! haha

The Wizard of Oz by a mile!
The flying monkeys and the wicked with and actually ALL of the characters are SO much more interesting than any in The Sound of Music. Even the Oz's MUSIC is better than the Sound of Music's music.

I prefer The Sound Of Music, even though it is a long movie, at least it doesn't have monkeys in it. I can't stand monkeys. Plus it doesn't help the ones in The Wizard Of Oz were flying ones. I also like the music on the Sound Of Music

The Sound of Music, because it sticks to the actual story. The Wizard of Oz is so off the story! They basically took the name and the basic principal of the book and wrote a totally new thing!

Wizard of Oz because I like the story line better. The music is catchier and I believe it's more fun. The Sound of Music is long and kind if complicated with the whole war situation thing...
now if you had asked between the Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins.. my vote goes to Mary Poppins lol

Wizard of Oz, it was so much more interesting when a child. Lets face it I never really cared for the sound of Music or the actress herself.

Sound of Music, but then again I love music and singing so of course I would like it. Wizard of Oz used to scare me when I was little.

I love the sound of music..I know all the words to every song.......I also like the wizard of oz though, but if I had to choose I would say sound of music..I look forward to it coming on tv every year around Christmas
