Ok, first of all why would you give someone that much amount of money? Im sure that you wanted to help this person out, but thats is breaking you pocket and not to mention your patience with this person. You'll have to take him to small claims court. When you have him that money, all you did was upport his coke habit. Im not blaming you, but you must be a very kind and loving person to give someone that amount of dough. The only thing is if you take him to small claims court, it could drag on for weeks and he probly might not show up and then you have to present to the court probable cause as of why you gave him that money. The first thing the judge is going to ask you why would you give a large sum to someone who has a drug habit?
But dont feel bad, i went thru the same shiit wit a so called friend. i couldnt track her *** down cuz she left to another state. i was givin her money to help her but i didnt know she was usin crack. I wanted to take her to court but she would deny me givin her money.
If you dont keep track of when and where you gave money, then its going to be alot harder to track that money down and have the courts make him pay.

You won't get your money back but for about $500 more you can hire a discrete leg breaker to pay the person a visit and make yourself feel better about the entire episode. Just an idea.....

Taking them to court but then you have to be able to stand your ground and provide proof that they are indeed a coke addict. Otherwise your friend will never pay you back- coke addicts only care about the next high.

If you have a written contract you can get the money; otherwise, consider the $3800. loss a lesson in hanging with drug addicts. They will rob their mothers for a fix.

I think that you already know that you arent going to see that money from someone that is chemically dependent...at least I hope you arent thinking you are going to see it. My thing for you going forward is DONT LEND, DONT BORROW. See this as a cheap lesson.

your $3800 is long gone and there is very little prospect of seeing it anytime soon. @$400 per day the debtor is likely to die before he pays you back too.
