It depends on the date....it depends on where you're going, what you're doing and how long you've been dating.
If you're going someplace nice...obviously dress up.
If you don't know what you're doing and it's a new dating situation....you shouldn't get dressed for the Ritz, but you should be dressier than what you would normally wear.
Regardless of everything though, if you're not planning the date...it is ALWAYS okay to ASK....even if they want the actual date to be a surprise...you can say something like "I just want to be sure I'm dressed appropriately...are jeans and sneakers okay or should I wear something a little nicer?" That opens it up for being comfortable and gives the person planning the date the opprotunity to say...dress semi-casual, semi-formal or formal.

I suppose it depends where you are going to, if you are going out for a meal, i would dress up but not too over the top. Just be yourself and wear something you want to wear and what you are comfortable in. If you want to wear plain clothes you do that just be yourself.

now that is a question, because it depends on were you are going and what you are doing. Some dates are casual dates like going to the movies or the beach or mall or just hanging out somewhere and that would require jeans and a T, but if you are going to a nice place to eat then it would be nice to dress up a little or a lot depending on what type of an eating place it is.

It depends on where you are going. Girls are usually better off a little nicer dressed than the guy. Shows you are a meticulous person, not a slob. Unless going to a sports event, I usually wear heels with jeans or casual skirt. When in doubt I always wear stockings, gives me more confidence and most guys really like it.

do you know where youre going to be going on the date? if youre going somewhere fancy dress up but if youre just hitting the movies or going out to eat then dress like you normally do but maybe put on a really cute top or do your hair up all nice. dont over do, make sure you look great but at the same time make sure youre comfortable in what youre wearing. if you cant walk in your shoes or you are tugging at your clothes all night its going to keep you distracted from getting to know your boy better. have a great time!

Depend where the date is going.
Prom/Yacht club: Dress Up. Gown, heels.
Pizza/movie: jeans, favorite shirt. Put more effort in the hair and nail polish. Unless your in a religion that does not allow make-up/cosmetics. Tennis shoes/sandals.
Beach: swimsuit or shorts depending on weather/season.

It depends on where you go... if you're just going out to a regular resturant, wear a nice shirt and jeans. If you're going out to say, Olive Garden, dress a little nicer.

it really depends on what kind of date it is. I would probably get a little dressed up no matter what though.
