My ex-husband raped me at gun point. My current boyfriend told me not to go to his apartment but he had some mail of mine. I was hurt emotionally and physically by someone who should have been able to be trusted. I was scared of losing my boyfriend because he warned me and I did not listen so I did not tell him for a long time. I was too afraid to turn him in because he is a cop and I could not face his coworkers accusing me. I also did not want my kids to think that the man they called Daddy could do something like that.

It wasn't a day as grievous as getting raped, but..

This one day, October 13, 1997. Man. I was in college and working, and single parenting my two kids, so every day isn't the best, but... I had gotten my financial aid check from school a few days before and I had cashed it and deposited the money in my bank. SO i called up to check on my balance and it turns out the banks says they LOST THE CASH DEPOSIT OF $1300. CASH.
OMG I was so mad, I pitched a fit and told them I would burn their bank to the ground if they didn't find my deposit. So I ran home to see if I could find my deposit slip, and when I get there I notice my front door is kind of open, but I'm not paying attention. I get in the house and my daughter says "Mom, where is the computer?" I had just spent my tax return getting our first computer and I was so proud of it. I look in the living room and there is just a table with a clean square in the dust where my monitor had been. Turns out someone broke in my house, stole my computer, went through my drawers, found my vibrator and left it OUT on my bed and stole my laundry quarters!
My head was ready to explode, obviously, so I called the police, who told me "good luck getting it back, you suck, we'll take a report", and my cat gets out, runs across the intersection and gets run over! Naw, I made up the part about the cat, but the rest honest to god did happen. The bank eventually "found" the record of my deposit and gave me my money back, in a few days.
THE DAY THAT SUCKED!

My 3 year old grandson was marching on the sofa to Barney. He didn't see the end of the sofa and marched right off. He hit his chin on the cable TV box and got a cut. I called his mom and we took him to the DR for stitches. They wrapped him in a papoose so he could not move. He screamed and cried and I felt sooooo guilty. There was a 20 something year old guy in there and he asked me what they were doing to him and I told him stitches. He looked at the nurse and said, I'm not getting stitches". The nurse said, "You need stitches". He said, "I don't care, I'm not getting stitches".

I was penniless, walking the highway in a strange town, homeless, all my possessions in a small bag, my only food some peanut butter, which ran out.
I said, "If I get out of this, I don't need to worry about anything again."
And I did, with stranger's help.
"Ask, and ye shall receive."

The day I got a "D" in 7th grade Civics class. It was not fair. Two weeks later I began to cut, and have never been able to stop because of that poor grade that I did not deserve.
