It's very important to play peek-a-boo with a baby because this is when they learn that you may go away yet feel secure that you will also come back. Plus, they love it. This is just one thing. I have a granddaughter I babbysit and I talk to her constantly. They need the voice stimulation and are learning by every word you speak. Their little brains are like sponges right now - soaking in everything.

well, I have found that they prefer the cheapest toys! Like a big cardboard box...but you can also buy some things...like a bumble ball or something that moves a little but not too much--to encourage crawling, etc...my baby also loves baths and music...baby Einstein keeps her attention for a half hour. And talking with her is fun and encourages her speech...

encourage her to bang things.... which may give you a headache after a while! i used to give me daughter wooden spoons and pots to bang which she loved, and i bought some hand bells that strap round her wrist too....
and if you want something a bit quieter try music, dance and clap along, make funny noises and sing, stand her up and let her bounce! the great thing is they love it the more you look silly! just make sure the curtains are drawn..... lol
or even more quieter try water -especailly now its warmer get a small paddling pool or failing that a bucket!! my daughter is 2 and plays with a bucket of water for hours!!
or quieter and less messy try reading to her.... pick a story with bright pictures and do funny noises -get her interested in books at an early age! my daughter loved one with a mirror in at the end
good luck, i know how had it is to entertain them and keep yourself amused at the same time!!

Lie her on the floor with toys around so she can reach out for them and roll about the floor. Also talk to her as baby's love interaction and it will help her to communicate. I myself have a 7 month old baby.

Change her location. I have 5 month old and she gets bored so easy. Try putting her on the floor, then when she tells you she is tired of being there put her in a swing, then on the couch etc. Also give her stuff to chew on and introduce her to new toys like keys, rattles, rings etc...

toys etc.... are great, BUT try some everyday household things. they love things like a set of measuring cups, pots, pans and boxes from something you buy proves to be a world of exploration for them as well. just be sure baby can't hurt themselves on things from around the house you give her to check out.

i used to peel a small apple, put the baby in a walker, and let them suck on the apple. it is good for them and feels good on their gums. you may have to wait a few months to do that. but for now, lay her on colorful blankets, suround her with toys. talk to her, go on a walk. stand at an open door to let her look out.
