Some people say there is no baby, no human being until it is born.
When does it become a baby, the minute it is out of the mother's body? When labor starts? When do you draw the line at having an abortion?

From some of the answers it seems you might be thinking I am considering it and I'm not. I absolutely know that life is there when you conceive. I was just amazed to hear from people that its not a person until it is born. Its nice to see from your answers that there are normal caring people out there. God Bless.

Never is it ok to have an abortion. You are choosing to take a life God gave you. You asked, just my opinion.

I don't think there is a time in a pregnancy where abortion is okay. As soon as the baby has a heartbeat with is within the first few weeks. There is no denying that there is a life in the womb.

The only circumstance I would even think of such an atrocity would be when the mother's life is in danger. Other than that, it's murder. Those that support abortion in every situation are Anti-Life.

the baby is a baby at conception - hence finding a cut off point after that point is purely subjective

did you know that a baby at 3 months gone has a heartbeat? how can it not be alive at that point?

to answer your initial question - how late - well we are suffering from an aging population due to abortion being used as a means of contraception (despite what the laws SAY - the medics will always find a way round it to accommodate someone who claims they don't want their pregnancy rather than go with the adoption route) - did you know that if that had been stopped then we wouldn't have an aging population now?

I agree that it becomes a baby at conception. It is a baby that is just incapable of sustaining life on it's own. It relies on it's mother, who is supposed to help it grow from that point on. If an abortion must be done, it needs to be done right away, within days of finding out you're pregnant. I think anything past one month pregnant is just cruel and selfish. If you're gonna do it, just do it, and don't let the baby grow more just to die. But I personally don't believe in it, and would never do it.

An abortion is NEVER okay. That is murdering a helpless child that cannot have a say in whether or not it gets to live. It is a tiny human being as soon as it is conceived. Most people who have abortions end up regretting it later.

It depends on the state you are in . In most cases it is permissable until the end of the first trimester or about 12 weeks gestation.
I am completly for a womans right to choose but as a mom of 3 who would love to have another baby but can not , I hope you really think about this before you do and remember the most loving , unselfish act you could committ is to give your unwanted child to a family who will love it and make it the center of their world.

My obgyn will only do it up to 21/2 months at the latest and after seeing it look more like a baby I couldn't do it. I think most people do it when it still looks like an egg with a mouth. Otherwise personally I couldn't do it, but I hear of people doing as far as they would like, but I don't understand why people can't decide as soon as they find out. Otherwise its growing while your deciding.. If you think thats what you need to do, I would recommend you doing it asap. I have recently gave a baby up for adoption and its the hardest thing to ever do, so if its a big decision for you to decide to abort it, it will be five million times harder to give it up for adoption. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone..

It depends of the laws of the country you live in.An abortion can be perfomed anytime during the pregnaancy but before 26-28 weeks. After that most probably no matter how legal it might be it will be killing a living being. In Some countries the limit is 20 weeks though

I think that it is only done safely in the first trimester. I dont know anyone that says it's not a human until it's born. A 7 month old unborn fetus is most definately a baby.

I agree with the responder who says to keep ethics out of it.

I don't think this person asked for your opinion on this subject. Lets stick to what answers is for ok.

Abortion is illegal when it has gone into the final trimester. After the 2nd, then you can't do anything. The sooner the better and the easier on your body as well!

thats the problem with this world ...everyone does what they "feel"..and no one ever takes the time to think how the impact of their decisions will affect others.....

no time is a good time for abortion....a baby has a heartbeat at 2 months in the womb..however the law allows an abortion for up to 3 months.....

it has a heart..u killed it...welcome to the world of murder......
