I sang these songs to my nephews and my future stepson when they were babies. Hope you like them.

Dream a Little Dream of Me
Schwant, Andre, and Kahn

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singin' in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Say nighty-night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longin' to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars shining up above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singin' in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Yes, dream a little dream of me

When It's Sleepy Time Down South
*****
Pale moon shining on the fields below
Folks are crooning songs soft and low
Needn't tell me so because I know
It's sleepy time down south

Soft winds blowing through the pinewood trees
Folks down there like a life of ease
When old mammy falls upon her knees
It's sleepy time down south

Steamboats on the river a coming or a going
Splashing the night away
Hear those banjos ringing, the people are singing
They dance til the break of day, hey

Dear old southland with his dreamy songs
Takes me back there where I belong
How I'd love to be in my mammy's arms
When it's sleepy time way down south

Dear old southland with his dreamy songs
Take me back there where I belong
How I'd love to be in my mammy's arms
When it's sleepy time down south
Sleepy time down south

Rock a bye baby in the tree top
when the wind blows the cradle will rock
when the bow breaks, the cradle will fall
and down will come baby, cradle and all.

This is a good song to sing, as it will teach the child from an early age that life is perilous and that death can strike at any moment without warning. The world is a cold, cruel place, and your child needs to know.

Wooden Heart (Muss I Denn)
(words & music by Wise - Weisman - Twomey - Kaemfert)
Can't you see
I love you
Please don't break my heart in two
That's not hard to do
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart
And if you say goodbye
Then I know that I would cry
Maybe I would die
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart
There's no strings upon this love of mine
It was always you from the start
Treat me nice
Treat me good
Treat me like you really should
'Cause I'm not made of wood
And I don't have a wooden heart

Muss i denn, muss i denn
Zum Stadtele hinaus
Stadtele hinaus
Und du, mein schat, bleibst hier?

There's no strings upon this love of mine
It was always you from the start
Sei mir gut
Sei mir gut
Sei mir wie du wirklich sollst
Wie du wirklich sollst
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart

Any of the normal lullabies or nursery rhyme songs. ABC's, Old MacDonald, Rock A Bye Baby, Mary Had A Little Lamb, and many, many more!
Or just sing whatever you normally sing to yourself!

How about "your are my sunshine, my only sunshine"? We sing our sprog this song that has him laughing so hard we have to stop after a bit, it goes like this:

(you have to sing this LOUD and flap your arms)
WELL UP IN THE SKY
THE BIG BIRDIES FLY

(then very soft, with the sleep action)
while down in the nest
the little bidies rest

(whispering )
shhhh...
they're sleeping

(then SUPER LOUD with your arms up)
THE BIG SUN COMES UP
THE DEW FALLS AWAY

GOOD MORNING, GOOD MORNING
The little birdies say

(i guess you have to be there)
