Hmm, interesting point. I guess it depends of whether you use biological or conditioned viewpoints. From a biological position, there is evidence that much of what is considered beautiful in a person are things that indicate good genes - so for a woman, a curvy body means bigger hips, so fewer complications in childbirth, long legs - well a girl's legs get longer in puberty, so it indicates fertility... But then there are factors which are just fashionable, like boob size or hair length. So it's partly your body telling you which male/female would be the best to breed with, and partly fashion or personal taste!

It is scientifically proven that our brains are drawn to things that are in porportion and athesetically pleasing. We can't help it. That's why people 'in general' agree on what is pretty or ugly. However, it is known that true beauty comes from within. This is why we see someone that we love, that is not stereotypically good looking, as beautiful because their being shines through their eyes and physical features.....ultimately eminating true beauty from spirit, which can in turn make them physically attractive to us and we love them for their own unique look.

Each culture also has an idea of what constitutes beauty. Each has standards of beauty. You are correct that certain reactions to physical appearance are learned. To a baby, his mother is "beautiful" regardless of her actual appearance.

I don't think anyone decided what it means, in a right or wrong way, because it is open to interpretation.

You should not answer your own question within the question. Try asking the question and then go back to answer it.
