it would end when mankind would end dat is after some 20 billion years (the sun and things) or it can end if man has found how to achieve the speed of light (in vehicles) coz nothing is faster than light

Are you referring to our need for speed -- like breaking the sound barrier, or drag racing, or motorcycle racing? If that's the question, then it's the adrenalin rush and the mastery of man over machine. Also the science factor of physics and pushing the envelope.
