Just kidding, but I am curious:

This is reference to Human Sexuality. The question is driven from the current culture of "lifestyles" such as Open Marriages, bisexuality, bdsm, etc.

Which better defines who we are: Our fantasies that we never share and and my never act upon, or our acitons and deeds.

GREAT Answers: I posted this in another section as well, check out the takes in gay/lesbian/etc

I am putting this to a vote. But, my thoughts are that fantasies can very well define who we are. If our friend Tattoomeats has gay fantasies, he COULD be gay. Or not. He could just be open and curious, and perhaps imaginative.

SassyBroad and Buyer are right when they say our fantasies are (generally) harmless unless acted upon and therefore less defining than what occcurs.

Andi hit that on the head when she discussed making the choices we make on the fantasies we live.

A wise man once told me:

You can best judge a person's character by what choices would be made if absolutely NOBODY would EVEREVER find out.

Redflower alludes to this point as well re societies impact on our decisions, etc.

Again, good answers, comments and votes anxiously awaited.

I think it has to be a mixture of both. Having a fantasy and choosing not to fulfill it IS an action in itself. I will not have sex with the guy I fantasized about because I CHOOSE to be faithful to my boyfriend. Fantasies and actions are not exclusive of one another. The things I do and the things I choose not to do are both equally important in definining my character and morals.

Actions and deeds. Indeed define a person because if I were to act out my secret fantasies I would probably be on the 11 o'clock news

One can talk themselves into believing their the most righteous person on the face of the earth, but their actions and deeds define who they really have proven themselves to be. I have met some remarkable thinkers in my time....They are so capable that they don't attempt to apply themselves because they know they can accomplish such a task, but what have they really gained by not even making an attempt...how humbling of an failed experience would this shape their lives...and how much more would they gain if they succeeded.

I believe our fantasies better define who and what we are...the only reason most of us don't act on them is because of what society tell us is right and wrong, or moral and immoral...Our actions and deeds are mostly dictated by societies rules, and if we all look deep enough, I'll bet we find that there are some things that we we do if we knew we could get away with it...Rob a bank?....walk down the street naked?...sleep with more than one person?...got the idea?

Our actions and deeds define who we are. Fantasies are just that and usually are disappointing when they are fulfilled. How we treat our fellow human beings is what life is about.

If I fantasize about banging the latest 'hot' singer & a month later she's pregnant am I guilty? I don't think so! It's actions!

Our actions and deeds. We can and will think or fantasize about many different things, but it doesn't make much difference if we don't act on them.
