I love our motherland by heart and soul, but I have to admit with honesty that it is not THE BEST for living.

I was bourn and raised in very rural village. As I remember today, I hated the back yard out house. In the cities the smell of open sewer, flies every where, shortage of everything, wide diffference
between rich(too powerful) and poor was terrible. People usually do not follow any rules or laws, and are very currupt. Any one with a little bit of power will not do a job as a duty, but only with some bribe. In last 35 years this has not changed at all.

India changed a lot, prospered alot, but with population explosion many progresses are not effective enough.

I heard from my relatives that between Bombay and gujarat border many people will pose as police , and do not give your passport till you give cash money.

More people have more spending money, but difference between rich and poor is still very wide. Ordinary people have to struggle just to get basic things. So from these perspective, living in India is not the best.

However for spiritual and family living It is good. People are satisfied and happy even with less things. People are more helpful and more caring. And if you are rich it is one of the best. Sadly every one is not rich.

Its a personal choice really and no one should insult a country just because they have heard abt it or had a few bad incidents, I have visited a lot of countries in the world and know that India is still behind in lot of facilities.. but still I would like to stay here for its traditions, festivals, people's freindliness and my family :)

If you like the smell.
If you like the poverty.
If you want to be a Hindu.
If you have no where else to go to.
If you want to ride on a bus on the roof.
If you have the streets as the sewers.
If you don't want to shower.
If you need to swim in the Ganges river daily.
If you want to meditate in the Himalayas.
f you want to fight Pakistan.
If you want to take up Buddhism.
If you have the sidewalks as your home in the nights.
If you can sell your blood and organs for money.
If you want to take over Sri Lanka.
If you want to be a Call Centre operator.
If you want to meet 20 million beggars on the street.

Else it is really lousy there.
