It is a common way for men of little self confidence to make themselves feel better about themselves. They need to belittle the woman so that they can feel superior to her. Men who do this have barely any intelligence and usually have a small penis which makes them feel inadequate and inferior.

YOu mean mentally? That's a joke. Women play much bigger mental games with men and do much bigger things to hurt men mentally than men do to women. I think someone has messed up your facts. Is your mother being abused by your father? If so, call the police, of if you are in the SF Bay Area, call me and I will go kick his a*ss, then call the police.

Assuming your question is, "Why do men like to hurt their (note spelling) wives (note that men is plural so wife needs to be plural as well) mentally (note spelling)?" then I would say that certainly not all men do. Those men who are mentally cruel to their wives are generally men of low self-esteem who feel they gain power over belittling their partner. These men need counseling and the couple needs counseling as well.

Lack of respect for you. taking out his problems on making you feel bad about yourself is wrong and once that line is crossed it's bad. And not all men, I don't do it and i hate it when i see couples do it.
