In pregnancy many things happen to ones body. You could be suffering from pregnancy induced diabetes, or you simply could be dehydrated. If you haven't increased your fluid uptake, then the baby is just taking more from you than you are able to give. Either way it is necessary to call the doctor.

OMG...I drank water like a fish during the first part of my first trimester (when I was about 4 weeks pregnant). Be cautious though...excessive thirst can also be an indication of diabetes.

yes that was one of my first symptoms of being preggo
that and the tiredness that set in. also felines usually associated with PMT and then some gradually becoming more pronounced.
having said that do make sure that you are checked to be sure that you are not going down with diabetes as this is easily treated.

Excessive thirst is not a symptom of pregnancy. However, it is a major symptom of diabetes and pregnancy can bring on diabetes temporarily. Please get this checked by a doctor.

I have never heard of that as a symptom for pregnancy, but I have heard of it for diabetes. Check with your doctor.

yes it is a symtom of pregnancy, because ur body requires more fluids, during pregnancy its alot easier to get dehydrated. im type 1 diabetic and fell pregnant and before i knew i was pregnant was drinking alot and thought i was having problems with my diabeties but wasn't i asked my doc when i went to confirm the pregnancy and my doctor said that its was due to the need of fluid intake during pregnancy.

I don't think so...it's more likely a symptom of diabetes. You should have your blood sugar checked, especially if you ARE pregnant.

I've never heard of it being a symptom. You may be tired from being pregnant and you are wearing yourself down and your body is needing nutrients from water, but i've never heard of this being a symptom.
