Going to Black Gang Chine was like going back to being a child for the day. Plenty to do and see in the park and all the attractions fit adults as well as children. We had fun locking each other in the jail, fitting ourselves into coffins, getting spooked in the haunted house, checking out the saw mill and pootling around the nursery rhyme garden. Sadly some of the park has been eroded into the sea, but this does not stop anyone from having a superb visit.

Hope this helps

Its Blackgang Chine (Chine means a cleft in the rocks).

Yes its still there. My wife used to go there as a kid so we took our kids over there for a weekend so that they could see that people havent always got on an aeroplane for 16 hours to go on holiday.

I like it I must confess. Its kind of quaint and unassuming in an English kind of way. Like Alton Towers and Thorpe Park try to be like Disneyland, Blackgang is a kind of innocent english low key park.

Its cheap, very well looked after and doesn't seem to get outrageously busy. The rides are very low key and its more about themes than thrills.

If you are going to the isle of wight I would say go and have a nice relaxed picnic and tea kind of day.

Yes and yes. I thought it was great. My son was about 3 at the time and he liked it too. Isle of Wight is expensive but what you get for your money is definitely worth it.

Its falling into the sea gradually, but its still good to visit if you are in the area. Go at night time, its really pretty, because they light up all the routes with mini lights along the edge.
