All three! Seriously, I'd buy the PS3 and possibly the Revolution along with it. I DETEST the name Wii.

Ma: "Billy, what are you doing upstairs?"
Billy: "Just playing with my Wii, Ma."
Ma: "Your WHAT?!"
Billy: "My Wii!"
Ma: *sound of retching*

I would buy the PS3 because it's backwards compatible to all PS and PS2 games, of which there are thousands (literally), plus it integrates the motion-sensing technology of the Revolution, albeit in leau of a vibration feature, which always kind of annoyed me. But hey, that's just me.

It really depends on what you would like. I would personally reccomend the Wii.

Why? The PS3 - look at the price! I really don't know why Sony is trying to cram as much junk in to a 'gaming' console. Yeah, being able to play DVDs, CDs and games on the same machine is great, but firstly, judging from the PS2, which my friend has, the DVD quality is absolutly RUBBISH! And they seem to be following the same route with the PS3 so, most likely, they'll put all their effort into the graphics capabilities and add in a cruddy DVD player to make it look 'cool', and people will buy it becuase the Playstation is 'cool' which is really pathetic. The controller? Don't even get me started! *coughgimmickcough*

X-Box 360 - I honestly think that this is going the same way as the Dreamcast. It came out too early and people weren't really ready for a new console, not matter how good it is. It may be great now, but when the Wii and PS3 come out, it'll be overshadowed and, like the Dreamcast, forgotten.

Wii - if you want something new, then I would advise this. Just the fact that Nintendo is doing something different, I think they should be supported. Games need something different, and I think this is it. I mean, how many other consoles have ever had a controller like this? How many developers have even *dreamed* a controller to be like this? Yeah, the graphics arn't going to be the greatest, but the quality of the games is what counts and, what makes me sad, is that people will always buy the console with 'pretty' graphics than ones with good games.

What has the youth of today decended to?

These are just my opnions, so you don't *have* to listen to. I'm sorry if I've insulted anyone out there.

Wow! I wrote an essay!

Well personally, I think the 360 will win this battle.

It was out way before Wii and the PS3, so has a good user base already.

It has proven Media streaming capabilities, and of course it has Xbox Live for multiplayer online experience.

The PS3 (from reports I've read) isn't actually as powerful as the 360 and is supposed to be a pain to code for.

The Wii has nowhere near the graphics processing power of the Microsoft and Sony beasts.

And the 360 will be MUCH cheaper than the PS3 when it is launched in late 2006 (or 2007 by Sony past experience).

PS: did you know that all the PS3 games shown at E3 were actually running on high end PC's hidden behind the scenes? LOL

I have a 360 and there are a few games I like playing on there, but unless you're into shoot-em-ups or racing games, there's not much else to buy!

I will be getting a Wii (I will still call it the Revolution) as I like Nintendo's thinking, and I want to play with the motion controller! Not only does it give you a new slant in gaming, it will also keep you fit! Nintendo have always designed their consoles with gaming in mind, not whether it can play DVD's and reprogramme your microwave.

As for the PS3, I think I'll pass. It's way over priced and they're having so many problems with it at the moment I know they'll have ripped half the guts out before launch. They've also stolen Nintendos idea of a motion sensitive controller. And to top it all off it looks like a George Forman grill!
The main problem with Sony is that they're very good at hyping up their stuff, but not very good at delivering it. If you actually look at the industry sites (NOT Sony's own) you'll see that they are having so many problems getting things to work properly that (apparently) they don't have a fully functioning model yet! And it's supposed to be released in November!

Do you like online games? If so, get the 360.

Do you need a large library of games? Then wait for the PS3. Remember that it is the most expensive system by far though.

Do you want something that revolutionizes the way games are played? Then get the Wii. Keep in mind it does not have HD support.

I already have the 360 and I plan on owning all 3.

I havn'tbought consoles for a while now, last one i got was the dreamcast when it was first released and my interest was waning then. But the Wii (don't like the name either) is looking good for the reason that it's changing how we play games. Control pads are all well and good but it'sthe 21st century and we have the tech to make things mroe realistic and interactive. If the game allows you to swing a sword realistically rather than pusdh a button why not go for it? Or point a gun at the screen, control pads are leftovers from earlier times when all other parts of gaming have advanced, Wii is good to push the envelope in this way and I will be looking with great interest. Also, any games good enough that don't appear on Nintendo will be on PC, which is my preferred medium right now.

Nintendo Wii. I want just a games machine, not a PC, CD or DVD player. Plus I don't want to fork out hundreds of pounds on a new console. Good graphics are nice, but if the playability sucks, then what's the point?

And there's also the pull of Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Starfox....an original controller that I'm very curious about. The unit is also smaller and more portable....which is great for me as mine travels from place to place.

Plus if we are going to be shallow then the console is easily the best looking out of the three! XD

And another reason - I hate Playstation controllers. This comes from playing for hours and hours on a friends PS2 and those stupid little triangular buttons did my fingers in!

The PS3 quite clearly...althought the 360 has been out longer this only stregnthens Sony..they have time to learn from Microsofts mistakes(of which they will make). When games companys see the power it can offer (42 times faster than the PS2 and twice as fast as the 360) then they will know who to side with. Own music, online straight away, put your pics on it, changeable hard drives...Yeah the PS3 is about to change the gaming world.

depends on how much money you want and what type of a gamer you are. if u have a lot of money, buy a nintendo wii, then a ps3 when its out.

but if not, id say the wii will bring a new era of video gaming, playin video games at home with ur friends will be a lot more fun. at least thats what it looks like, im not sure if the real thing will be as good as it looks in the videos...

ps3 all the way. despite the price it has some great shooters and a good selection of other games.it also connects to ur psp to use as a second screen.the controller ismotion sensitive and NOT a bomerang. they changed it. wii is to kiddie and 360 is too technical. ps3 is a well rounded system with the best graphics(Nvidia7800)x2. if u get it buy 60 gig version. its the best.
