I have been reading your questions....very funny girl...if you are a girl...and I very much doubt that you are american...but with the assumption that you are, The question of yours that I like the most is closed. But I will give you the true answer here and for a dumb american...your question atleast this one is not ! But the people that gave you answers are very much so. Yes we do still technically belong to the queen....We took our freedome...therefore it is not a legal aggreement, Canada is a Sovereign Nation but the United States is not! Canada's Declaration was sign off by the Queen, ours was not! The fact that we celebrate our Independance doesn't mean ****! We still pay plenty of taxes to the Queen and no,no and NO! We are not a Sovereign Nation! We are a Sub-Corporation of Britain and Legally we are aliens in our own land!

Well I have to live somewhere sugar. It's pretty cool too, eh! We do what ever we want, when ever we want; and our government lets us. Heck they even facilitate. Add to this that we're little known through out your world and it's like a modern day Brigadoon. Consider this as well, your esteemed nation is defending us from the rest of the world so we can spend our money on social programs like free health care and subsidized education. Come on up some time, most of us just love most of you's; and we're always happy to put up Americans; gosh for that matter almost anyone is welcome here. I'll buy the first round, hope to see you soon. By the way your probably not dumb at all if you are interested in the Great White North, but just in case it is Northwards to get here and remember when your in Canada where ever you go there you are. Thank you for this question.

Why indeed. Why did Canada not join the great US of A and then there would be no Canada. You really need to ask yourself if the world be a different place if we did not have Canada. I do not think many would notice. A good question. The same question applies to USA. Why?

Canadians have better health care, far less poverty, and a higher standard of living than U.S. They are consistantly ranked ahead of U.S .in quality of life, education, and living conditions in worldwide rankings. The UN listed Canada as the best place in the world to live 10 years in a row. They are far less hypocritical and are much better liked world wide. No Canadian would be stupid enough to elect George Bush.

Because it like the US without the social problems and a warmongering head of state. Higher national IQ average than the states but you knew that anyway didn;t you!
That makes it better than the US.

It's God's way of showing that it is possible to live in North America without finding yourself filled with a fundamentalist red-necked urge to travel round the globe to poorly armed countries you couldn't actually spell and bomb them flat.
