I recieved this letter in the mail telling me that I had been nominated for the National Honor Role Program. Is this program something to get excited about or does almost everybody get one of these letters?

Almost everyone gets one. (And it's spelled Honor ROLL, by the way.)
All they do is put your name in an online database, and try to sell you a hard copy (book) of all the names in your class year.

Please don't put it on any of your college applications -- the admissions people will laugh.

It depends on the school you go to and community you live in. A lot of people in my community get into the Honor Role Program, but it is still something to be very proud and excited about.
Congratulations!
