The International Date Line is the imaginary line on the Earth that separates two consecutive calendar days. That is the date in the Eastern hemisphere, to the left of the line, is always one day ahead of the date in the Western hemisphere. It has been recognized as a matter of convenience and has no force in international law.

If u are moving from Japan to USA via Pacific and the date in ur wrist watch is 5, u should keep the SAME date for even NEXT DAY in America.If u are moving in opposite direction(USA to JAPAN)when u cross date line u should immediately change it to 6.This is because we consider sun first rises in Japan and last on West Coast of America..
